OMG! Was this episode so freakin’ amazing or what. I couldn’t have asked for better performances from the top 2 finalists, Katie Kim and Jung Seung Hwan.
Read on to find out who is the winner of K-Pop Star season 4
We finally made it to the last episode *claps enthusiastically*. The episode didn’t disappoint and, at least for me, it was difficult to figure out who the final victor would be. The first round starts off with a twist (kind of), they have to switch songs that they’re each known for.
Katie Kim has to sing Kim Jo Han’s “사랑에 빠지고 싶다” and she was a little worried because it’s a ballad song and the fact that Jung Seung Hwan freakin’ slayed the song. But guess what? Katie freakin’ slayed the song too. She was soooo good. You could instantly tell by the “oohs~” that she sang in the beginning that it was going to be a good one.

We all know what song Jung Seung Hwan had to sing, g.o.d.’s “니가 있어야 할 것”. The judges had no idea how he was going to sing this dance song. I had no idea how he was going to sing it either, but he did it and was super sexy. Katie put a sassy twist to the song, while he put an uber sexy feel into it. I was just waiting for the body waves to roll into my heart. Not that I was body rolling to the songs or anything *shifty eyes*, lol. JYP asked if he drank before he got on stage, haha!

After the first round, the first special stage started and it featured season 3 contestants as well as Park Jimin, Akdong Musician, and Bernard Park. Bernard Park and Sohyun from Akmu started off with the Park Yoon Ha and Jung Seung Hwan duet song. So pretty, so pretty. Oh and did Bernard get like super good. Why wasn’t his debut song like this? It should have been a duet, like this.
Anyways, Park Jimin and Chanhyuk from Akmu sang g.o.d.’s “One Candle” and was joined by Almeng, Han Heejun, and another chick (I’m sorry I don’t remember her name).
Round 2! They got to choose their own songs and Katie Kim chose JYP’s “You’re the One”. And she brought the sass and soul. Like what can I say? She was doing her thang and it was hot. Plus, this song holds a few memories for me and T.

Jung Seung Hwan went back to his ballad roots and sang Noel’s “만약에 말이야”. It was emotional and peaceful. He just has a really good voice. There’s not much to say and the only thing I was thinking was “holy crap, I’m not sure who’s going to win”.

So that’s it from our contestants. JYP performs his new song. I’m not a fan of it, so yeah…
But then special stage 2 brought out most of the contestants from this year to sing the obligatory “One Dream” song. Cool twist, JYP does a piano solo with Lee Jin Ah. And Ji Yoo Min (the rapper chick) was there too! That was cool. I’m not going to lie, I got a little emotional listening to their performance. Oh, oh! Before that happens, Yoo Hee Yeol plays the piano to an audition clip of Park Yoon Ha singing “Hero”. That was emotional and gave da goose bumps everywhere.
The time has come, the time to choose our winner. After, you know, all the fake outs and stuff, Jeon Hyun Moo announces that Katie Kim is the winner. She has to choose what company she would like to sign with after hearing some last final words from the judges. Katie says that she had a company in mind, but then another company made her sway a little, but then she went back.
Katie Kim is going to YG. Everyone assumed that the other company was JYP, or at least JYP voiced that thought…aloud, but it was actually Antenna, lol. Someone’s salty.
Final Thoughts.
It was a good season. I’m so happy it was a female heavy season and the all the girls rocked it. Katie Kim rocked it, I’m so glad that my realistic prediction didn’t come true. Jung Seung Hwan was definitely a strong opponent and I just can’t get over how good his g.o.d. performance was.
Truthfully, it’s not the most exciting season, that goes to the first season in my opinion, but there was a lot of heart to this season. Especially with Sparkling Girls, I hope that they go on to become a legit group including Erin Miranda. A fan is waiting for you right here! I hope Ji Jon does well too, they should go on to become top producers. Ji Yoo Min should enter JYP, I think JYP has a special place in his heart for her, and Esther Kim. Finally, I think Jung Seung Hwan should enter Woolim Entertainment. Huh, is probably what you’re thinking. But think about it, how awesome would it be for him to come out with a song like Sunggyu’s “60 Seconds”, belting out those rock ballads, working with Nell, etc. It would be awesome.
