K-Pop Star 5 Episodes 3 and 4: More People to Look Forward to (again!)

Uggggghhhh! All I want to do is share the clips of the performances, but does SBS and K-Pop Star want to help with that. No! Wae must you make it so hard for fans like me and billions of other K-Pop Star fans around the world?

Okay, I’m done ranting.

Episodes 3 and 4 were pretty good. It’s ranking audition time as the judges take the 71 contestants, who survived round 1, and narrow down the number. For those of you guys who aren’t familiar with the ranking auditions. The contestants are grouped together by some kind of trait for example, unique voices, emotional voices, age, etc. From there, the judges will listen to their song and rank them. All of them can make it through or some may be eliminated. In my opinion, this is the hardest round to pass because you have to show some kind of improvement.

Yoo Jay

Well, the judges said that her performance was the best they’ve ever seen in K-Pop Star. I kind of don’t agree with that. It was good, there is no doubt about it, but for me Katie Kim’s g.o.d. performance is my top performance. I do think she has a unique voice, but I’m waiting for that one performance that really, you know, gets me. Is that weird? Lol. I guess, I’m a bit picky with my singers.

This girl bounces back and she bounces back hard. I think this round might be the round where in K-Pop Star 3 she surprised all the judges again. She sang Miley Cyrus’ “Wrecking Ball” and at the beginning of the song she sounded super indie. Maybe that’s the route she should be taking?

Lee Kyu Won

These youngsters are pretty good. The judges noted how that the younger crowd were more competitive than the older people. Lee Kyu Won sang Ariana Grande’s “My Everything”. Her voice is kind of average to me but there was something with the way she sang the song that caught my attention. I know the description is a little vague, ugggh, I wish I could find a clip for you guys to watch!

Okay, I’m going to stop there for now. They started another group but I think they’ll finish it the next episode. I’ll tell you though, Joo Mi Yeon is my favorite from the group so far. She just really spoke to me (not literally, lol) and her voice is really unique. She has a clear tone but a little huskiness in it. I don’t know how to explain it, but just that her voice is really good!

Don’t forget to check out our videos!

See you next week! Thanks, Q.
